Silent hill: Homecoming is a psychological survivor horror game developed jointly by Konami digital Entertainment and Double Helix Games. This sixth installment in the Silent Hill series is published by Konami itself. The game was released on September 30, 2008 in North America and is set for release in Europe on October 30, 2008. Silent Hill: Homecoming is available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The game was earlier titled Silent Hill 5 but Konami changed its name later. It is a single player game only. No multiplayer component has been added to the game. Silent Hill Homecoming download is available on the Steam for PC. PC version is not available anywhere else except to be downloaded from the Steam.
Player takes the role of Alex Shepherd, protagonist, a war veteran who has just returned home. On returning home, he founds his younger brother and father missing while his mother has gone to Catatonia. While searching for his missing ones, he reaches Silent Hill where he has to go through the fog covered areas and “Otherworld”. Alex also met his old school female friend Elle who assists him in his search. Whether Elle is playable or not, is not confirmed yet. A character named Travis Grady of Silent Hill Origins also appears in the game whose duty is to drop Alex to the Silent Hill.
This dreadful game can erect your senses. There is a combat in the game and while fighting real time wounds also appear on both player and his enemies. There are some new enemies in the game. Alex has been equipped with new fighting techniques but his enemies are more intelligent. Artificial Intelligence of enemies is better than that of player in silent Hill: Homecoming. There are many new ways of attacking and evading enemies. The graphics in the game are also excellent. This is my personal view that Silent Hill Homecoming will top the survival horror games chart this year because it is more dreadful than ever.
The game has just released but it has been banned by Australian Classification Board. The ban is following its Refused Classification which stops games that exceeds violence or abuse limits in Australia. You can get Silent Hill free movie DVD when you pre-order the game. Silent Hill: Homecoming download is available on Steam only. There is no demo download for the game. Chances are Silent Hill: Homecoming demo will soon hit the market but it is not known when this playable demo will release.
